Situated on a plateau halfway up Boaventura Mountain, the property offers sea and mountain views in the heart of a UNESCO-protected laurel forest. Just steps from Madeira's most beautiful levadas and hiking trails. Our accommodation is NOT a hotel, but a true B&B in a private home.
We speak French and Portuguese. (Elementary English and Dutch A1)
A new tourist tax of €2 per person per night for a maximum of 7 nights will soon be applicable, payable in CASH upon arrival. We will inform you as soon as the tax is applicable.

We no longer accept children under 10 years old; our facilities are not suitable for them.
We offer two fully equipped rooms, shower, WC, 160x200 bed, courtesy tray, flat screen TV, bathrobes, hairdryer, shower soaps and shampoo, bath towels.
Rooms include a sweet and savory breakfast. From 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. (bread roll delivery is only guaranteed from +/- 8:00 a.m.)
Breakfast is served at the table, and to be consumed on site ( to take away only with reservations 24 hours in advance for night departures and sunrises). This service is only offered free of charge once per stay. Please inquire about the price for any renewal of the service) and Nelson will be happy to prepare your scrambled eggs on request.
Any special requests regarding breakfast should be communicated to us by email, including any concerns regarding allergies.
Check-in is from 2 p.m., not before. Rooms must be vacated by 11 a.m. (For hygiene and safety reasons, rooms are stripped of furniture, disinfected, vacuumed, cleaned, and returned to their original condition for our next visitors upon each departure.)
Free WiFi.
Each room has private access with direct access to the outside. Breakfast is served in the dining room with a covered, fully equipped barbecue available for guests. (Condiments not included, except salt and pepper)
For hygiene reasons, no food or food waste is allowed in the rooms, and pets are not allowed. (Storage and cooling facilities are available in the barbecue area).
You are renting specific rooms in a private house, so please let us know your arrival time as early and precisely as possible so that we can welcome you and be present upon your arrival.
Nelson is becoming an "expert" on hiking and recreation, and is always happy to give you advice and help.
Surfing, diving, or other sports equipment is now prohibited in the rooms. (There is a table outside to store your sports equipment.)

In order to comply with the obligations relating to the Foreigners Service (SEF), each visitor is invited to complete an information sheet which they must present to this service.
PS: 1) Please note that the calendar algorithm only allows two people per room. If you plan to share the room with more than three people (one child), the algorithm will announce the occupied rooms by default! Because you exceed the number of people per room, please do not hesitate to contact us!
2) To identify genuine guesthouses in Portugal, they must obtain their license/AL number and indicate it on all official advertising materials. You can check it on the official website "TURISMO DE PORTUGAL" https://www.turismodeportugal.pt/pt/Paginas/homepage.aspx under "Services" then "National Tourism Registry - RNT". In the Nº Registro section at the top left, indicate the AL number - or the name of the guesthouse whose authenticity you want to verify.
To avoid any accidents when using the machines, we offer you the possibility of washing your laundry ourselves for €5 per machine, maximum 5 kg, and for the dryer for €5, maximum 5 kg.
Booking sites like AIRBNB - BOOKING and all the others sell you our rooms at a slightly higher price and charge us increasingly higher commissions (around 20%), so when you book here you are participating in the sustainability of our activities and instead of giving this 20% to AIRBNB, BOOKING and companies, we can more easily reinvest these sums in accessories for your comfort!
For cost reasons and to speed up payment, we recommend our customers pay by bank transfer. However, other payment methods remain available on our website via the STRIPE app or VISA. - MasterCard.

Picnics and other food deposits are prohibited in rooms for hygiene reasons. Indeed, we risk ant infestations if food is brought into the rooms, and access to rooms that are currently rented is prohibited (except in cases of force majeure), even for a brief cleaning, unless expressly requested by the customer. Many dining areas are available outdoors.
Our pets are not allowed in the rooms due to allergies and other inconveniences.
Above ground swimming pool open in summer season. Not heated. 17,000 liters.
We serve breakfast personally at the table, Nelson offers these good scrambled eggs on request. Breakfasts are taken in the open kitchen, covered all year round facing the mountains, breakfast is to be consumed on site (do not take away).

We practice selective sorting of our waste at home with your participation.
Containers are available at the entrances and exits of all villages to allow you to safely deposit your trash and other plastics from hiking. The Madeirans are very concerned about the cleanliness of their island. This ecological practice saves us from moving our 1,700 kg car sometimes just for a few grams of plastics that quickly become cumbersome.

Pick up at the airport 50€ one way - 50€ return.
We pick you up at Funchal airport any day by reservation and subject to availability, from 9:30 a.m. until 12 a.m.
The car can hold three adults, and usually luggage for two adults, if you are three adults, please let us know so that we can install our roof box.
If the clients are alone or as a couple, and our availability allows it, we can opt for a detour via funchal to eat in town before returning home, and make a first visit there. Another, shorter route is generally used and allows, during the day, to enjoy breathtaking views of the valleys and mountains passing through Santana.
We take care of you for 50€ on the way there and 50€ on the way back, i.e. 100€ payment in cash on arrival.
This shuttle option is only valid as part of a global order with room/breakfasts in our maderedocevida spaces.
This service is only offered as part of a short-term rental in our rooms on arrival and departure.

The ARCO restaurant shuttle service is an optional service offered to our visitors who have not rented a car.
It is offered between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. outward journey and 7 p.m./9.30 p.m. return at the latest. This option is not included in the excursion service and the price remains unchanged over one or two journeys (a break in the restaurant and a return to the restaurant).
The service is offered according to the availability of the car.
The transit time is +/- 8 minutes one way - 8 minutes return by car. It is quite possible to get there on foot for a walk of +/- 20 minutes, the path is steep at the driveway! and 20 minutes walk back.
